Faux Wood Blinds
Home and Garden June 24th, 2008There are several options on the market today when it comes to window treatments. A popular choice is still faux wood blinds. Living in a hot and humid climate like Houston, creates challenges when it comes to durable window treatments. Blinds are a favorite among our Texas customers because they allow the homeowner flexibility in controlling the amount of light and privacy desired in a room. As a Houston remodeling company we recommend 2” faux wood blinds to our customers because they are a nice inexpensive alternative to plantation shutters.
Faux wood blinds are made of a durable vinyl type material that comes in several colors and sizes. The blinds come with a valance but still require a string for raising and lowering and opening and closing, which can be a disadvantage for some. They look like wood blinds without the maintenance. They will not rot, warp, fade or require painting or staining like real wood.
The blinds are very low maintenance, just dust regularly and for stains wipe with a soft cloth and warm soapy water for easy cleaning. Faux window blinds are a timeless, durable, attractive and inexpensive window treatment that can be enjoyed for years to come. A great window covering that doesn’t look cheap and classic enough for any decor.
